The Alpinestars Tech-Air? 3 v2 Leather Vest is a state-of-the-art active airbag system designed for optimal rider protection without the need for external motorcycle sensors or connections. Featuring six integrated sensors*including three accelerometers (one triaxial) and three gyroscopes (one triaxial)*the system continuously monitors riding conditions and automatically activates in the event of a crash, providing comprehensive impact mitigation. The vest's packable design allows for easy storage in a backpack, saddle bag, or top case when not in use, ensuring convenience for riders on the go.
Constructed from high-quality cow leather with a softening process for enhanced comfort, the vest incorporates ribbed, elasticated side panels for flexibility and expansion. Perforated panels on the upper chest and shoulders improve ventilation, making it suitable for various riding environments. The vest features a center zipper secured with two internal magnetic snap buttons*one holding the chest bladder in place during riding and another concealing the bladder when not needed. Multiple storage options include two zippered hand pockets, two zippered chest pockets with a sunglasses channel on the right side, and an inner concealed pocket, providing ample space for essentials.
An integrated discreet LED display on the front chest, backed with reflective material, indicates the system's operational status and includes a haptic alert (vibration) to confirm when the system is armed or when the battery is low. The vest houses Alpinestars* Pro 2nd Generation ECU in a dedicated pocket at the upper back, which manages the airbag deployment logic. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity allows users to monitor system status, battery life, and ride data via the Alpinestars Tech-Air? App. The app also facilitates system updates and software management, ensuring the vest remains up-to-date with the latest features.
Powered by an integrated certified lithium-ion battery, the vest offers approximately 40 hours of use on a single charge, with a recharge time of around 4 hours. The gas inflator, housed on the left side of the lower back, supplies inflation gas for quick deployment during a crash. All critical components*including the gas inflator, wiring, and airbag module*are easily removable and replaceable by certified Alpinestars dealers and service centers. Certified to operate in all weather conditions between -20?C and +40?C, the vest*s ECU seal-protection ensures durability and reliable performance in various environments. For maintenance, the leather exterior can be cleaned with a suitable leather cleaner to preserve its appearance and longevity.
