The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Leather Vest offers advanced safety features combined with premium comfort for motorcycle riders. Equipped with a discretely hidden LED display on the front chest, the vest provides clear indicators of operational status with reflective backing for better visibility. The display also features a haptic alert that vibrates to confirm system arming and notifies the rider of low battery levels. The integrated Tech-Air® 3 v2 system uses six sensors—three accelerometers, including a triaxial accelerometer, and three gyroscopes—to monitor crash conditions accurately across various riding scenarios, including when stopped. The system activates automatically via magnetic zip closure, ensuring seamless operation without external connections or sensors on the motorcycle.
The vest incorporates an Alpinestars Pro 2nd Generation electronic control unit (ECU) housed in the upper back pocket, which is protected by ECU seal technology for all-weather functionality between -20°C and +40°C. The Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity allows riders to monitor system status, battery life, and ride data through the free Tech-Air® App, which also enables software updates and system configuration. The vest’s lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of use on a single charge and recharges in approximately 4 hours. The gas inflator, positioned on the left side of the lower back, deploys the airbag in the event of a crash, and can be easily replaced by authorized dealers or certified service centers.
Designed with practicality in mind, the vest features two zippered hand pockets, two zippered chest pockets—including a sunglasses channel—and an inner concealed pocket for personal items. Additional features include a waist loop for attaching gloves or other accessories. When not in use, the vest’s packable design allows it to be stored conveniently in a backpack, saddlebag, or top case, making it suitable for everyday riders and long-distance travelers alike.
