S&S Cycle 3-1/2 in Standard Bore High-Compression Forged Pistons, Model 36-84 BT, Part Number 106-5519

These 3-1/2" standard bore high compression pistons fit 1979-'84 74" HD® big twin engines, producing 9:1 compression with stock unmodified cylinder heads.. The modern alloys used in these pistons, coupled with the advanced skirt profiles, allow them to be fit tighter resulting in low engine noise and long engine life. In the past, this could only be achieved with weaker cast pistons. S&S® will fit these pistons to your existing cylinders (when purchasing new cylinders, pistons can be fit to them as an option).

S&S Cycle model 36-84 BT standard-bore high-compression forged pistons, manufacturer part number 106-5519 and vendor part number 106-5519, are designed for 1979–1984 74-cubic-inch Harley-Davidson big twin engines. The pistons provide a 9:1 compression ratio when used with stock, unmodified cylinder heads.

Constructed from modern alloys with advanced skirt profiles, these pistons can be fitted more tightly than older designs. This supports reduced engine noise and extended engine life while retaining the strength benefits of forged piston construction. S&S Cycle can fit these pistons to existing cylinders, and piston fitting is also available as an option when purchasing new cylinders.
