The Outwears ATV Pre-Filter, manufacturer part number 20-1242-01, is designed to provide an additional layer of protection for compatible UNI and Dura air filters. Its silicone-impregnated micro-mesh material helps resist water while filtering out sand, dirt, clay, and other unwanted contaminants before they reach the primary air filter. This pre-filter supports reliable intake protection for off-road riding conditions without compromising engine performance.
Dyno and flow bench testing has shown no significant horsepower loss or reduction in air intake when using this Outwears pre-filter. The material features uniform micron-sized openings that allow air to pass through while filtering particles as small as 0.005 inches in diameter. Dielectrically welded seams provide a durable, secure construction suitable for demanding ATV use.
Fitment includes the 2012 and 2013 Honda TRX400X, as well as the 1999 through 2006 Honda TRX400EX Sportrax. Verify the existing air-filter application and vehicle model before installation to ensure proper fit. The Outwears 20-1242-01 is a practical choice for riders seeking added protection from fine dust, sand, moisture, and trail debris.
