The Outerwears Pre-Filter is designed for use with the K&N YA-4504 air filter and compatible Yamaha sport ATV applications. Its blue protective cover helps shield the underlying air filter from dust, dirt, sand, and other debris while supporting dependable airflow for off-road riding. The pre-filter is identified by Outerwears part number 20-2079-02 and is intended for riders seeking added air-filter protection in challenging environments.
Fitment: Fits 2004–2009 Yamaha YFZ450 models, including 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 model years. Also fits the 2009 and 2015 Yamaha YFZ450R and YFZ450R SE. Verify the existing air-filter application before installation to ensure compatibility with the K&N YA-4504 filter.
The Outerwears pre-filter installs over the compatible air filter and is suitable for recreational, racing, and utility-focused off-road use. By helping reduce the amount of larger contaminants reaching the main filter, it can make routine filter maintenance more manageable and provide an additional layer of protection during dusty or sandy rides. Its blue finish gives the replacement cover a recognizable appearance while maintaining a practical, application-specific design.
