The Outerwears ATV Pre-Filter is a red protective filter cover designed for Uni and Dura air filters on select Honda Sportrax and TRX400X models. Manufacturer part number 20-1242-03, also identified by vendor part number 25-5824R, this pre-filter helps protect the primary air filter from sand, dirt, clay, and water while maintaining efficient airflow for off-road riding.
Dyno and flow bench testing has shown no significant loss of horsepower or air intake when this Outerwears pre-filter is installed. Its silicone-impregnated micro-mesh material is water resistant and features uniform micron-sized openings that allow air to pass through while filtering unwanted contaminants. The material can filter particles as small as 0.005 inches in diameter without noticeable airflow restriction.
Seams are dielectrically welded for a durable, secure construction suited to demanding ATV environments. This red Outerwears pre-filter fits 2012 Honda TRX400X models and 1999–2006 Honda TRX400EX Sportrax models. Confirm the existing air-filter style and vehicle application before installation to ensure proper fitment.
