The OUTERWEARS ATV Pre-Filter, manufacturer part number 20-1254-01, is designed for use with K&N RU-3 air filters. Its silicone-impregnated micro-mesh construction provides a water-resistant layer of protection while helping prevent sand, dirt, clay, and other unwanted elements from reaching the primary air filter. The uniform micron-sized openings allow air to enter efficiently while filtering particles as small as 0.005 inch in diameter.
Dyno and flow-bench testing has shown no significant loss of horsepower or intake airflow when this pre-filter is installed correctly. Dielectrically welded seams provide a secure, durable construction for powersports applications where exposure to dust, moisture, and debris is common. The cover helps extend service intervals for the primary filter and supports consistent engine air filtration during recreational and off-road riding.
Fitment includes 2003–2006 Kawasaki KFX 400 models and 2003–2008 Suzuki LT-Z400 QuadSport Z models. Verify that your vehicle uses the K&N RU-3 air filter before installation. This OUTERWEARS pre-filter is supplied under vendor part number 25-5872 and manufacturer part number 20-1254-01.
