The Namura piston uses a hypereutectic casting process that increases silicon content to help reduce expansion, improve wear resistance, and withstand elevated cylinder temperatures. Its MOS2, or Teflon/molybdenum, coated skirts use a rolled-on application process designed to create a stronger bond than spray-on coatings. This coating helps improve heat transfer, reduce friction, and minimize the risk of cold seizures during operation.
Additional piston features include a machined smooth head that helps reflect combustion heat and reduce carbon buildup, supporting piston protection and consistent engine performance. The anodized dome improves heat resistance and durability, while providing greater strength than a non-anodized dome. This Namura top-end kit is intended for Nikasil-cylinder applications and provides the major components needed to restore compression and refresh the engine’s top end.
