The Motion Pro Vortex™ throttle assembly, manufacturer part number 01-1402 and vendor part number 70-1402, is a redesigned, compact throttle control for select Japanese two-stroke motocross motorcycles. Its lightweight design helps maximize available handlebar space while providing a quick, responsive throttle action. The assembly fits standard 7/8-inch handlebars and is designed to replace the original equipment throttle on many compatible applications.
Constructed with a die-cast aluminum body, billet aluminum cover, and smooth black painted finish, this Motion Pro throttle is built for reliable off-road use. A POM pulley with brass bearing delivers a smooth throttle feel and improved wear resistance, while the included Motion Pro Titan Throttle Tube™ provides a durable interface for the grip and throttle assembly. The unit is compatible with Motion Pro DirtControl™ V2 and ODI V2 Lock-On grips when used with cam C.
The fast twist rate opens the throttle at 0.526 millimeters of cable pull per degree of rotation and can open the carburetor to full throttle on most two-stroke motorcycles in approximately 70 degrees of rotation. It pulls up to 50 millimeters at maximum twist. The assembly fits Kawasaki KX125 and KX250 models from 1992 through 2005 with stock throttle cables; this listed application covers the 1992-2001 Kawasaki KX250. It also fits select Suzuki RM125 and RM250, Yamaha YZ125 and YZ250, and Yamaha WR250Z models. For Honda CR125, CR250, and CR500 applications, use Motion Pro cable part number 70-1713. Special application Motion Pro cables are available for additional motorcycles. Verify model year, cable routing, and grip compatibility before installation.
