The Motion Pro REV3™ Variable Rate Throttle Kit, manufacturer part number 01-2989 and vendor part number 01-2989, is designed for the 2000–2009 Suzuki DR-Z400S. This complete off-road throttle system lets riders tailor throttle response to riding conditions and personal preference with an innovative interchangeable reel system. The kit includes the REV3™ slim throttle housing, unbreakable Titan Throttle Tube™, Motion Pro black vinyl cables, and DirtControl™ II grips.
Five included reel options provide versatile throttle control. Four round reels measure 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, and 50 mm, while the included gray progressive cam reel delivers a progressive throttle response preferred by many riders. Smaller reels provide a slower throttle rate for improved control, and larger reels offer a faster response. The system is compatible with Motion Pro DirtControl™ V2 Lock-On grips, including part numbers 01-2818 and 01-2819, as well as ODI Lock-On grips.
The slim REV3™ housing creates additional room for lever clearance and allows adjustment of the throttle housing position. Snap-together elbows simplify installation and reel changes, while the improved throttle stop increases strength and durability. Billet aluminum inline cable adjusters help simplify setup, and the cable boot helps protect against dirt and dust for smooth, dependable operation. Lower cable sections use 5 mm housing with a PTFE liner for reduced friction, flexible routing, and lower weight; upper sections use 6 mm housing for solid adjuster support. This patented Motion Pro kit is simple to install and maintain.
