The MICHELIN StarCross 5 Soft Rear Tire is designed for motocross riders who need dependable traction and control in soft, changing terrain. This rear motorcycle tire uses a soft-terrain tread pattern engineered to perform across firm soil, grass, mud, and sand. With its 90/100-14 tire size and 49M speed rating, the StarCross 5 Soft provides a balanced combination of grip, stability, and responsive handling for demanding off-road riding.
The StarCross 5 Soft features Mud-Phobic Bars that help maximize self-cleaning performance. These specialized tread bars reduce the buildup of mud and dirt between the knobs, helping the tire maintain contact with the riding surface during acceleration and cornering. By promoting consistent tread engagement in muddy conditions, the tire supports strong forward traction when the terrain becomes loose, wet, or heavily rutted.
Intermediate tread blocks are arranged in staggered rows to provide feedback across varying lean angles. This design helps the rider maintain a predictable feel while transitioning through corners, negotiating changing surfaces, or adjusting the motorcycle’s line. The tread layout is intended to deliver high performance throughout a broad range of softer terrain rather than being limited to a single soil condition.
