The Michelin City Grip 2 is a premium rear scooter tire designed to provide confident handling and dependable traction in changing weather conditions. This Michelin tire uses a silica-based compound and shark tooth sipes to improve grip on wet and slippery surfaces, helping riders maintain control during everyday commuting and urban travel. The 140/70-16 tire size has a 65S load and speed rating, making it a practical fit for a wide range of modern scooters.
The City Grip 2 combines all-season performance with long-lasting tread life. Its tread design is engineered to deliver strong wet traction while supporting consistent performance over an extended service life, offering more mileage than its proven predecessor. Michelin City Grip 2 tires have been selected by leading scooter manufacturers for original equipment applications, including select Peugeot Metropolis, Piaggio Beverly, Sprint and Primavera, and Yamaha X-Max models. Always confirm the required tire size, load rating, speed rating, and vehicle fitment before installation.
Independent and internal testing reported improved wet performance compared with Pirelli Angel Scooter tires under specified test conditions. In wet-track testing conducted in Fontange, France, Michelin City Grip 2 tires completed laps faster on a Yamaha XMax 250. Internal wet-braking testing in Ladoux, France, with third-party validation also reported shorter stopping distances on a Yamaha VMax 125. Actual road results may vary based on vehicle condition, rider input, road surface, weather, tire pressure, and other factors. This rear scooter tire is manufactured by Michelin and carries manufacturer part number 81168 and vendor part number 81168.
