The FOX Factory Series ski shock kit is designed for select Polaris Switchback snowmobiles with a 144-inch track. This completely redesigned and refined suspension component delivers reduced weight, responsive handling, and improved ride comfort for trail and crossover riding. The FOX Factory Series model features a Rifle-Bore shock body with internal spiral grooves that guide oil around the main piston during the ride zone, reducing damping force for a plush, controlled feel.
As the shock approaches the final portion of its travel, the Rifle-Bore grooves end and direct oil flow through the main piston. This position-sensitive damping design increases bottom-out resistance to help absorb hard impacts. The kit includes QS3 three-position compression adjustment, allowing riders to quickly tailor suspension response for changing terrain and riding conditions. Its aluminum and injection-molded polymer mounting hardware, optimized reservoir length, high-volume bearing, and weight-optimized body caps support durable, consistent performance.
FOX part number 850-04-005 is fully rebuildable and revalveable for long-term serviceability and suspension tuning. The black Type III anodized body and orange reservoir cap provide the updated Factory Series appearance. This kit is manufactured by FOX and supplied under vendor part number 530-1253.
