The BMC FM948/04 air filter is a washable, pre-oiled replacement filter designed for select Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It uses multilayer cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil and covered by an epoxy-coated alloy mesh to help protect against petrol fumes and oxidation caused by air humidity. BMC states that the filter improves airflow while containing impurities as small as 7 microns, compared with 10 microns for OEM filters.
Produced using a single-mold design, the filter avoids welded joints that may be prone to breakage. It can be washed and regenerated with the appropriate BMC regeneration kit. The manufacturer part number is FM948/04, and the vendor part number is 500250.
