The BMC FM764/20 replacement air filter is designed for select BMW R1200GS and R1200R motorcycles. It uses high-performance materials to improve airflow while filtering impurities as small as 7 microns, compared with 10 microns for the OEM filter. The filter is pre-oiled and washable, allowing it to be cleaned and regenerated with the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
Construction includes multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil and covered by an epoxy-coated alloy mesh. This design helps protect the filter from petrol fumes and oxidation caused by air humidity. A single-mold design eliminates welded joints that may be prone to breakage.
