The BMC FM528/20-01 air filter is designed for the Yamaha YZF-R3. It uses multilayer cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil and covered by an epoxy-coated alloy mesh to help protect against petrol fumes and oxidation caused by air humidity. The filter is designed to improve airflow while containing impurities as small as 7 microns, compared with 10 microns for the OEM filter.

Produced using a single-mold design, this BMC air filter avoids welded joints that may be prone to breakage. The filter is pre-oiled, washable and can be regenerated with the appropriate BMC regeneration kit. It measures 111.5 mm in length by 150 mm in width and includes a 2-year limited warranty.
