The Arai Quantum-X Helmet is designed for riders who need a comfortable, protective helmet with a round oval interior shape. The head liner uses thicker front and rear pads with thinner side pads to accommodate heads that are slightly wider than elongated. This Fluorescent Yellow Quantum-X helmet includes contoured FCS® cheek pads with multiple foam densities and a supporting foam spring that helps cradle the face, reduce wind noise, and make putting the helmet on or taking it off easier. A water-repellent ES chin cover is installed to enhance the helmet’s egg-shaped profile, smooth airflow, improve exhaust from the mouth area, and reduce wind entering from below.
The Variable Axis System (VAS) shield system lowers the shield pivot point by an average of 24 mm, creating a smoother shell surface in the critical temple area. This design helps improve the helmet’s ability to glance off impacts while maintaining dependable shield operation. The improved VAS latch securely captures the shield to help prevent unexpected opening, and its larger design supports intuitive operation, including use of the built-in de-mist function. The included VAS-Max Vision (VAS-MV) shield accepts a VAS-MV Pinlock® lens, and a Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ lens is included to help reduce fogging in changing riding conditions.
Ventilation is managed by QVF three-position intake ducts and QVR exhaust ducts for effective airflow while riding. The side vent continues to function as an exhaust vent even when the front shutter on the top duct is closed, helping maintain air movement through the helmet. The PB-SCLC shell, or Peripherally Belted Super Complex Laminate Construction, combines multiple materials and construction techniques to deliver a strong, refined design.
