The Arai Helmets Corsair-X Schwantz 30th Anniversary Helmet in XS features an intermediate oval shape designed to fit the majority of head shapes in the North American market. It combines a Super Fiber and special synthetic reinforcing fiber shell with Arai’s PB-SNC2 construction, which uses Z Resin to bond multiple shell layers and materials securely while supporting strength and reduced weight. An internal Structural Net and Peripheral Belt further reinforce the shell with minimal increase in weight or thickness.
The helmet’s internal air channel system improves ventilation by drawing hot, moist air from the eye port area through ducted channels behind the cheek pads and exhausting it through the side cowl vents. This airflow helps keep the rider cool and may help reduce fogging. The IC Duct5 system uses a three-position slide gate to improve sealing and help reduce noise and water intrusion.
The VAS Shield Mechanism supports smooth shield operation through its double-pivot design and lower shield mount position. Its larger latch is designed for intuitive use with heavy gloves, while the dual-function lever releases both the side cover or pod and shield pin for shield removal. A positive shield stop helps resist unintentional opening, including in the de-mist position. The VAS latch securely holds the shield closed to help resist unexpected opening.
