The Arai Helmets XD-5 helmet in fluorescent yellow and Small size is designed for adventure riding, combining airflow management, shield convenience, sun protection and rider comfort. Its PB-cLc² shell uses an assortment of materials, with a super fiber belt reinforcing the forehead area. The VAS-A shield system is lowered to improve glancing-off ability while preserving the wide field of view associated with the XD model.
The helmet features a peak designed to improve ventilation, increase high-speed flow-through performance, provide a greater range of sun-blocking adjustment and reduce buffeting. The peak uses one screw on each side for removal and installation. The VAS-A shield can be attached or removed without tools, allowing faster shield swaps. The mouth shutter provides additional fresh air, while the inner shutter helps control airflow entering the helmet. With both shutters open, air is directed toward the mouth; with the outer shutter open and inner shutter closed, airflow is directed toward the shield to help reduce fogging.
A front logo duct provides airflow unaffected by rider position, and the AR spoiler helps reduce fatigue from turbulent air during long rides while drawing hot air from the crown area. The helmet also includes an odor-resistant interior. The optional Pinlock® insert for the VAS-A Max-Vision shield is designed to resist fogging across the entire field of view, including in extreme conditions.
