The Variable Axis System (VAS) shield system lowers the shield pivot point by an average of 24 millimeters, creating a smoother shell surface in the critical temple area. This design helps improve the helmet’s ability to glance off impacts while supporting Arai’s focus on protective performance. The VAS latch securely captures the shield to help prevent unexpected opening, while its larger design supports intuitive operation and includes a de-mist function. The helmet includes a VAS-Max Vision shield that accepts a VAS-MV Pinlock lens, with a Pinlock 120 MaxVision lens included for improved fog resistance.
