The Arai Helmets Corsair-X Helmet combines advanced impact management, smooth shield operation, and rider-focused ventilation for demanding street and track use. Its PB-SNC² shell is made from super fiber and synthetic fibers to provide a strong, flexible construction while helping reduce weight. The shell profile and compact VAS pivot cover are designed to improve the helmet’s ability to glance off objects during an impact, including in the temple area along the Snell test line.
The VAS shield mechanism uses a variable-axis design with a moving pivot point. By combining the shield pin trajectory with the dual-pivot slot paths, the shield opens and closes smoothly despite the lower shield mount position. A dual-function lever releases both the side cover and shield pin, allowing quick shield removal, while the visible mechanism helps simplify shield changes. The VAS Max-V (BV) clear shield provides broad visibility in changing riding conditions, and a clear Pinlock® insert is included to help reduce fogging.
The shield latch is designed for intuitive operation and incorporates a de-mist function. Its larger shape makes opening and closing easier, while the VAS latch securely captures the shield to help prevent unexpected opening. The Diffuser Type 12 air intake vents offer three positions and are engineered to improve sealing, helping reduce road noise and limit water intrusion. The IC Duct5 ventilation system adds airflow through an easy-to-operate three-position switch and helps limit water entry when fully closed.
Inside, the removable odor-resistant comfort liner helps maintain a neutral pH level near the skin for a more comfortable riding experience. The soft liner frame includes removable temple padding and a removable, replaceable crown pad, allowing riders to refine the fit and replace interior components as needed.
