The Alpinestars Tech-Air Stella Tech-Air® 3 v2 Airbag System, part number 6518322-10A-L, is a lightweight, autonomous motorcycle airbag system designed for versatile everyday protection. It can be worn over or under a compatible motorcycle jacket, making it a practical choice for touring riders, urban commuters, and light off-road adventure riders. The system is compatible with Alpinestars jackets as well as properly fitting leather or textile motorcycle jackets that provide sufficient room for airbag inflation.
The wearable Tech-Air® system uses the Tech-Air® 5 Street crash detection algorithm, enhanced by artificial intelligence to monitor riding conditions and identify when airbag deployment is necessary. Six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, continuously evaluate the rider’s movement across a variety of dynamic street-riding situations, including when stopped. Developed using more than 2 million kilometers of riding data and over 2,000 crashes, the algorithm is designed to recognize dangerous events such as lowsides, highsides, and other impacts, deploying the airbag in milliseconds when a crash is detected.
Once inflated, the airbag provides coverage across the rider’s full chest and back for comprehensive upper-body protection. An integrated back protector pocket allows the addition of compatible passive back protection for an extra layer of coverage. The front LED display shows the system’s operating status, while the integrated haptic alert provides vibration feedback when the system is armed and warns when the battery is running low. Bluetooth connectivity links the system to the Tech-Air® App, allowing riders to check operational and battery status while accessing detailed ride information through the MyRide function.
