The Alpinestars Supertech R10 Helmet combines advanced composite construction, engineered impact management, and race-developed aerodynamics in a performance-focused design. Its outer shell uses a multi-composite combination of 3K high-density carbon, unidirectional carbon composite, aramid fiber, and fiberglass layers. These pre-preg materials are bonded with epoxy resin to help optimize the resin-to-fiber ratio for strength, mechanical performance, and reduced weight. The layered construction is designed to limit shell deflection, spread impact energy across a wider area, and improve energy absorption through the EPS liner.
The inner shell features an eight-piece, multi-density EPS liner with six strategically positioned densities to manage impact forces while supporting a close, comfortable fit. Four inner shell sizes help provide a more precise fit, improving comfort, reducing unnecessary weight, and supporting helmet performance during an impact. A smooth, specially treated EPS surface creates a low-friction interface beneath the comfort liner to help manage linear and oblique forces. This design allows the rider’s head to move more independently within the helmet, helping reduce force transmitted to the head, neck, brain, and spine during an oblique impact.
The A-Head Fitment System allows the Supertech R10 to be tuned to the rider’s preferred position by adjusting the helmet’s height and angle. Aerodynamic performance was developed through computational fluid dynamics simulations, wind-tunnel testing, and track validation to support low drag and stable performance. The helmet includes standard and longer race spoilers with elastic joints designed to detach during a significant impact, along with lateral winglets that support stability. Visor turbulators help improve aero-acoustic performance.
An integrated ventilation system uses 11 ventilation points, excluding the eye port, with seven intake ports and four exhaust ports. Air is directed through channels in the EPS liner to circulate around the rider’s head before exiting through the rear. A large top slider channels airflow toward the crown and helps extract warm air, while rear spoiler vents exhaust heat. Chin bar vents direct incoming air toward the shield to help reduce fogging and misting, while additional openings help remove humid air from inside the helmet. The Alpinestars Supertech R10 Helmet is finished in Element Carbon/Silver/Black and supplied in Medium with part number 8200324-1368-M.
