The Alpinestars SM7 helmet is engineered for off-road racing and delivers a balanced combination of impact protection, force dissipation, sliding performance, energy absorption, stability, ventilation, and comfort. Its lightweight composite shell is constructed from a multi-layer blend of fiberglass, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber. The aerodynamic profile has a smooth, streamlined shape without external channels or features that could create load points during an impact. Shell curvature promotes reduced friction and helps deflect impact energy away from the rider’s head, neck, and spinal column. The SM7 uses Alpinestars A-Head Fitment System for adjustable top-pad positioning and personalized comfort. Removable, washable liners feature antimicrobial fabric treatments, while interchangeable 3D foam cheek pads allow fit customization across all shell sizes. The cheek pads include an emergency extraction system and a channel for routing a hydration tube. Integrated channels on both sides of the helmet accommodate hydration systems, and the communication system-compatible EPS includes earphone recesses for speakers. The 25 mm nylon chin strap uses stainless steel double-D rings and removable covers for convenient cleaning.
Ventilation is provided through 20 individual intake and exhaust ports, including 13 intake ports and 7 exhaust ports, to promote consistent airflow during demanding rides.
