The special SRS ring is pre-loaded during assembly creating a spring effect. As the chain wears, conventional O-rings and X-rings lose their seal; however, the SRS ring has the ability to unload itself during use keeping a tighter seal against the side plates. This offers increased longevity as the specially formulated grease remains trapped around the critical pin and bushing area longer while also keeping dirt, water and other contaminants out.

The Renthal R4 SRS Road Chain is a sealed-ring powersports chain developed for road applications. It uses Renthal Self Regulating Seal (SRS) technology to help increase chain service life by maintaining a tighter seal against the side plates as the chain wears.

The specially pre-loaded SRS ring creates a spring effect during assembly. Unlike conventional O-rings and X-rings, which can lose sealing effectiveness with wear, the SRS ring can unload itself during use to maintain sealing contact. This helps keep the specially formulated grease around the critical pin and bushing area for longer while helping prevent dirt, water and other contaminants from entering.

This chain is identified by manufacturer part number C387 and vendor part number C387.
