The SRS is pre-loaded during assembly, creating a spring effect. As a chain wears, conventional O-rings and X-rings loosen their seal whereas the SRS has the inherent ability to regulate a constant sealing pressure against the side plates throughout the life of the chain, increasing the service life of the chain.

The Renthal R3-3 520 120-link SRS Road Chain is designed for powersports applications and uses Renthal’s self-regulating seal technology. The SRS is pre-loaded during assembly to create a spring effect that helps maintain sealing pressure against the side plates throughout the chain’s service life.

Unlike conventional O-rings and X-rings, which can loosen their seal as a chain wears, the SRS technology is designed to regulate constant sealing pressure. This construction helps increase chain longevity for compatible applications.
